Travel Preperations

There were a number of French in the train carriage on the way here. Suffice to say they were Middle Class French on their way to some place in which they had no experience.

Even the inexperienced usually know the desert is cold at nightl. The pre-dawn train left Jodhpur well before first light. This is the coldest part of the day. They were dressed in lightweight cotton clothing.

Warm Clothing

I ended up loaning one man who had only shorts, my wool blanket, with the result that I was cool myself, at least had pants and the wool Indian vest. The wool blanket is the standard thing for Indians, at least the Indians who aren't trying to emulate Westerners in clothing.
